Appletree Children's Centre

Appletree Children’s Centre is situated on Milking Stile Lane within Appletree Nursery School. We offer a wide range of free activities for families, parents/carers and young children up to the age of 5 including, Stay and Play, Baby Massage, Rap ‘n’ Rhyme and counselling services. We work in partnership with lots of other professionals to provide families with a variety of services all in one place. We offer family support, baby clinic, help to stop smoking and parenting courses.

All of our sessions are free and everyone is made to feel very welcome.

 About Us

Come along to Appletree Children’s Centre to make new friends and enjoy playing and learning with your child. Feel free to drop in any time or if you feel a bit nervous about coming by yourself then give us a call and we’ll make sure there’s someone here to meet you at the centre and stay with you during your first visit.

 

Appletree Children's Centre is an Earlyarts Pathfinder Partner, the largest professional development network for people working creatively with children and families in the arts, cultural and early years sectors. The network provides a range of resources to develop the appropriate skillset for building creative learning environments and to embed a playful learning culture. Pathfinder Partners deliver Earlyarts’ highly popular professional development days across all regions, ensuring that every professional that works with children and families will be able to access creative training in their area.

 

Our nursery school offers free pre-school education for all 3 and 4 year olds for up to 12 ½  hours a week. We also offer a healthy eating Lunch Club for a small charge. We pride ourselves on providing learning that is vivid, relevant, enjoyable and challenging. It takes account of, and responds to, the children’s interests, developmental needs and allows them to make progress on an individual basis. We offer all weather clothing our outdoor classroom allows us to play all year round. Our indoor classroom is equipped with the highest quality resources and is setup to encourage our children to be creative, explore and investigate. New Groups

There is a new group starting for people with Down's Syndrome and their family & carers at Appletree Children's Centre. First meeting is on 6th March, then 10th April & then every first Saturday in the month 10am-12 noon. No age limits.

Regular sessions at Appletree Children’s Centre

All events are free to attend, so come on down:

Stay and Play
For parents/carers and children aged 0-5 years. A fun play session for you and your child. No need to book, just  turn up at Appletree Children's Centre, every Monday from 1pm to 2.30pm and Wednesday from 9:15am to 10.45am.

Blossoms Baby Clinic
Come along and have your baby weighed, play and have a chat with other parents. No need to book just turn up at Appletree Children’s Centre, every Wednesday from 2pm to 3pm.

Toy Library
Take home a bag of carefully selected age appropriate toys for your little one and keep them for 2 weeks! The Toy Library is now FREE. Come and have a look at any time - every Tuesday on the Playbus.

Yoga
We now have Yoga sessions for both Babies (10.30am Mondays) and Toddlers (9.30am Mondays). Come along. No need to book.

Munchkin’s Childminder Drop In
For childminder’s and children to come and enjoy two hours of fun activities, supporting the EYFS curriculum. No need to book, just turn up, every second Tuesday from 9.30am till 11.30am at Appletree Children’s Centre.

Aawaz Drop In
A friendly support network which gives women confidence, encourages independence and cohesion in the community, no need to book, just turn up at, Appletree Children’s Centre every Tuesday from 13:00 to 15:00.

Baby Massage
Come and learn to massage your baby, meet other parents and have a chat. No need to book, just turn up at Appletree Children’s Centre, every Thursday from 10:30am to 11:30am.

Little Treasures
Natural play for babies aged 6 months to 18 months. Just turn up. Wednesdays 10am-11.15am.

Mini Movers
A fun music session for children ages 18 months to 5 years and their parents/carer’s. No need to book, just turn up Appletree Children’s Centre, every Thursday from 13:00 to 14:00 for ages 2-5 and 2pm-2.45pm for ages birth-18 months.

Rap N Rhyme Time
A fun music and singing session for children aged from Birth to 5 years and their parents/carer’s. Come along and sing, dance, make music, play and have lots of fun!!! No need to book, just turn up at Appletree Children’s Centre, every Friday from 9.30am to 10.

Active Dads
Are you a dad or a male carer? If so this is the group for you. The group is to give Dad’s/male carer’s help and support with their children and participate in fun activities. The group will be a new and exiting project and any ideas or suggestions would be welcome! We meet on the first Sat of the month between 10am-12noon. Baby Chill and Chat

A friendly and relaxing group for new mums and mums to be! Every Friday 10am-11.15am

 

Twins Group

A new group offering friendship, help and support to parents and carers of twins, triplets or more! Every other Tuesday 9.30am-11.30am.

 

Breastfeeding Support Group

Feel free to drop in if you are pregnant and starting to think about breastfeeding or already are a breastfeeding mum. Older children and babies are welcome. Breastfeeding Network Helpers are available for individual support, or you can just pop in for a chat. Appletree are changing our Breast feeding support group to Wednesdays 1.30-2.30 from Wednesday 28th July, We will be holding a Launch with Lunch on the 28th for the new group, where mums who are breastfeeding or pregnant mums who are considering breastfeeding can meet together for support and raise any queries with the breastfeeding network and NHS trained volunteers.

 

Messy Play

Fortnightly every other Thursday 2pm-3pm on the Appletree Playbus. Places are limited so please book a place - Tel: 01524 64132
