nct antenatal courses NCT antenaltal class
NCT Antenatal Classes

NCT has 60 years experience in supporting new mums and dads so you can rely on our courses to support you through pregnancy, birth and your new life as a parent. Although NCT courses are friendly and relaxed, we take your support seriously. That’s why all NCT courses provide evidence-based information to help you make the best decisions for you and your family. All NCT courses are led by specially trained and experienced practitioners who understand what matters to new mums and dads. Plus, every NCT course gives you the opportunity to meet other parents in your area. Concessions and discounts available for parents in receipt of benefits or on lower incomes.  The Lancaster & Morecambe branch classes are run by Suzi, an experienced antenatal teacher and mother of two. She is passionate about giving parents-to-be all the info they need to feel confident as they enter parenthood. Her classes cover labour, birth, parenting and baby development - providing information and learning opportunities as well as time for discussion and exploration of ideas

Heather says: NCT classes with Suzi were brilliant. Unbiased and a good mixture of the physiological and emotional aspects of labour and the first few weeks. Best thing was the friends we made though, our babies have just turned 1 and we still see each other regularly. NHS classes were brilliant for education but was more like a classroom.

Hypnobirthing Classes

It is amazing that there is such a wealth of experience and choice available in the area!

Emily Sheppard - Hypnobirthing Haven
KG Hypnobirthing is a complete, in-depth, antenatal and relaxation programme providing you with the tools and knowledge for a relaxed, empowered and informed birth, where ever and however that may be. It is logical, simple, practical.... and VERY EFFECTIVE! It enables you to work with your body and gives you the confidence to trust that your body is completely capable of giving birth as that is what it is designed to do!

Hypnobirthing puts YOU in charge so your baby can be born calm and alert as nature intended, able to bond with you quickly and settle into healthy sleeping and feeding patterns.

Too often we have been programmed throughout our lives with a negative pre-conception of pain in childbirth from books, media, films and even the stories of the people around us. Hypnobirthing is all about dispelling these negative mis-conceptions, releasing any fear and changing the way you think and feel about birth into positivity and even excitement.

Expecting Twins, Triplets or More?

TAMBA is the national twins and multiple births association.  They run one day antenatal courses specially for parents expecting more than one baby.  The nearest courses to us are in Altrincham, but it may be something that you feel is worth travelling for.  Whether or not you wish to travel to their antenatal courses, their website hosts a range of resources that you may find useful.
www.tamba.org.uk/

What you'll really benefit from is chatting with other parents of multiples.  There is a twins and multiples group that meets fortnightly.  You'd be very welcome to go along there whilst pregnant and meet with parents who have already been through it.   Join the Lune Valley Twins and Triplets facebook group for info on venue and dates.
