nct antenatal courses NCT antenaltal class
NCT Antenatal Classes

NCT has 60 years experience in supporting new mums and dads so you can rely on our courses to support you through pregnancy, birth and your new life as a parent. Although NCT courses are friendly and relaxed, we take your support seriously. That’s why all NCT courses provide evidence-based information to help you make the best decisions for you and your family. All NCT courses are led by specially trained and experienced practitioners who understand what matters to new mums and dads. Plus, every NCT course gives you the opportunity to meet other parents in your area. Concessions and discounts available for parents in receipt of benefits or on lower incomes.  The Lancaster & Morecambe branch classes are run by Suzi, an experienced antenatal teacher and mother of two. She is passionate about giving parents-to-be all the info they need to feel confident as they enter parenthood. Her classes cover labour, birth, parenting and baby development - providing information and learning opportunities as well as time for discussion and exploration of ideas

Heather says: NCT classes with Suzi were brilliant. Unbiased and a good mixture of the physiological and emotional aspects of labour and the first few weeks. Best thing was the friends we made though, our babies have just turned 1 and we still see each other regularly. NHS classes were brilliant for education but was more like a classroom.

The Wise Hippo

The Wise Hippo Birthing Programme is not only about pregnancy and birth. Our life changing education creates strong, confident parents, who inherently trust themselves, and, by using their natural instincts, make choices that are right for themselves and their families. The classes prepare you with the knowledge, tools, and the confidence you need, to have a calm and positive birth experience. When you and your birth partner are able to approach birth with a positive mindset, powerful techniques, knowledge and support, you can achieve The Right Birth On The Day.  Meeting your baby will be a beautiful and magical experience, that you will want to share with everyone.  You will be using self-hypnosis to let go of any fears and outdated beliefs surrounding childbirth, as well as relaxation & breathing techniques to calm your mind and your body, not only during pregnancy & birth, but for life.  Along with practical birth planning, your birth partner’s role, physical preparations for birth and so much more, you can be sure that you are receiving the best possible education on how to birth your baby feeling calm, relaxed & in control. Download the FREE Calm & Relaxed Wise Hippo mp3 here.

Emily Sheppard - Hypnobirthing Haven
KG Hypnobirthing is a complete, in-depth, antenatal and relaxation programme providing you with the tools and knowledge for a relaxed, empowered and informed birth, where ever and however that may be. It is logical, simple, practical.... and VERY EFFECTIVE! It enables you to work with your body and gives you the confidence to trust that your body is completely capable of giving birth as that is what it is designed to do!

Hypnobirthing puts YOU in charge so your baby can be born calm and alert as nature intended, able to bond with you quickly and settle into healthy sleeping and feeding patterns.

Too often we have been programmed throughout our lives with a negative pre-conception of pain in childbirth from books, media, films and even the stories of the people around us. Hypnobirthing is all about dispelling these negative mis-conceptions, releasing any fear and changing the way you think and feel about birth into positivity and even excitement.

AquaNatal at Ripley St Thomas with Molly's Little Minnows

Molly’s Little Minnows
– We are based in the Lancaster and Morecambe area and provide a wide range of fantastic lessons.
Molly’s Little Minnows is so excited to be running AquaNatal Classes at Ripley St Thomas on a Tuesday from 7-7:45pm.
The benefits of exercise in water are endless. The water gives a sense of wellbeing and relaxation. Pregnant women may feel lighter and have greater freedom of movement. Since most water-based movement involves concentric muscle activity, there is little or no soreness in the muscles after exercise in water. You may notice that you also have more energy after the session and sleep better.
All our classes are carefully planned for pregnant women and the pool is lovely and warm!
Our classes are run on a weekly basis so you don’t have to be tied down into a long course, you simply book and pay the Friday before (or at your last lesson) to book you and your bump into the Tuesday class, you can start attending from 18 weeks pregnant.
What’s even better is, when you meet lots of new mums to be, you can then attend our baby classes starting from just 9 weeks old!

Expecting Twins, Triplets or More?

TAMBA is the national twins and multiple births association.  They run one day antenatal courses specially for parents expecting more than one baby.  The nearest courses to us are in Altrincham, but it may be something that you feel is worth travelling for.  Whether or not you wish to travel to their antenatal courses, their website hosts a range of resources that you may find useful.

What you'll really benefit from is chatting with other parents of multiples.  There is a twins and multiples group that meets fortnightly on Friday mornings at  Kings Community Church, Phoenix Street, Lancaster.  You'd be very welcome to go along there whilst pregnant and meet with parents who have already been through it.   If you join the Lune Valley Twins and Triplets facebook group, then the meetup is always announced in there.

Another way of connecting with local parents is through the Lune Valley Twins and Triplets facebook group.
