The Parenting Forum

The Parenting Forum was set up a few years ago with a handful of practitioners all sharing the same thoughts/ideas about Family Support and Parenting issues for Lancaster District. The forum grew and funding followed from the Lancaster Children's Trust Prevention Fund in 2009. The forum now meets every 1st Tuesday in the month at 9.30am in the Child & Parent Support Services (CAPSS) building (formerly Skerton Family Centre) Sefton Drive. Lancaster. The meeting focuses on discussion; workshops; information sharing; networking; guest speakers; introduction for new services in the area. The membership is primarily practitioners; although we have tried to encourage parents to attend,  due to transport/childcare commitments, this has proven quite difficult; so instead we have encouraged interested parents to put their names forward and take part in pieces of consultation as they arise. The forum is also interested in identifying gaps in service provision, so if you have any thoughts please contact Sue Earnshaw – District Parent Support Adviser – Lancaster/Chair of Parenting Forum on 07825207025 or e-mail: sue.earnshaw@lancashire.gov.uk.

We also have our new website – please take a look. www.parenting.signposts.org.uk
