About Us
Heysham Children’s Centre is located opposite the Health Centre on Middleton Way in the newly extended and totally refurbished Youth and Community building.
Heysham Children's Centre is at the heart of the community, sharing a management structure with Poulton Children’s Centre but maintaining its own identity. The centre is synonymous with pregnancy and the bringing up of children and provides a friendly face to turn to for advice and support.
Groups We Run
Here are some examples of groups available at Heysham Children's Centre or one of our partner venues, for a comprehensive list of what we have on at the centre click on the link to the "What's on Guide" above. Charging
Due to recent cuts to our budget there is now a small charge for some of our groups, the charge is £1 for a single child. If you have more than one child the charge is £1.50. Groups that we charge for are highlighted on our What's On Guides as 'Standard CC' in the cost column.
Child Health Clinic with Stay & Play (Free)
Heysham Children's Centre. Come along for the chance to see a health visitor, get your child’s weight checked, make appointments for your child to be immunised and request health visitor prescriptions.
Baby Time (Standard CC Charge)
Mossgate Primary School. A range of baby orientated activities including singing and messy play. Please bring a change of clothes and a towel as you might get messy!

Baby Massage (Free)
Heysham Children's Centre. This session is for babies aged from 8 week to crawling. It can help with babies sleeping problems, relaxation and bonding with your baby. Baby massage also aids development from sitting to standing. Please bring a towel and olive oil with you, and it is also important that you child has had their 6-8 week check.
Messy Play (Standard CC Charge)
Heysham Children's Centre. This is a chance for children to have fun, there are no age limits on this group but the younger the children are the more limited they are in what they can do. Make sure you wear old/easily washable clothes.

Stay and Play (Standard CC Charge)
Mossgate Primary School. A friendly group for local children aged 0-5 years and their parents/carers.
Baby Yoga (£3 per session)
Heysham Children's Centre. This group is aimed at babies from 6 weeks to 10 months; this is a great way to bond with your child.
Talk Play and Sing
Trumacar Primary School and Heysham CC. This is a speech and language session with play activities to encourage speech. This group is aimed at children and toddlers.
Jo Jingles (£4 per session)
Heysham Children's Centre. Nursery rhymes and music for children aged from 5 months onwards. For more information and to enquire about places please contact Chris Court on 01524 859965.
Bright Sparks (Free)
Support group for families with children with additional needs.
Toy Library
We have a large selection of lovely toys that you are welcome to borrow so that you have something different to play with every week. You can borrow a bag for up to two weeks at a time. Just ask our staff to see which ones are available.
Dad’s Group
We work with the other Children’s Centres in Morecambe to run the Saturday Dads Group based at Westgate Children’s Centre. Please contact them on 409569 for more details.
Family Support and Outreach Work
Friendly advice, help and support at the Children’s centre and in your own home. Ask for details. Tel 01524 833644.

Local Childcare
Although Heysham Children’s Centre does not provide childcare itself, we are partners with Time 4 Nursery on Heysham Road. For information on daycare that they can provide please call 851288.
