Situated on Balmoral Road, adjacent to Sandylands School Foundation unit, Balmoral Children's Centre offers groups, activities help & support for families & parent/carers with children under 5 years of age.
We work with professionals and agencies to provide many services, including regular Friday morning child health Clinic and midwife drop-in. All our groups and activities are FREE.
Balmoral Children's Centre is the location for Total Tots Day Nursery, catering for children from birth to school age.
Situated on Balmoral Road, adjacent to Sandylands School foundation unit, Balmoral Children's Centre is conveniently placed in the West End of Morecambe close to Sandylands C. P. School, West End C. P. School and Heysham High School.
We also operate a satellite unit located at the rear of West End C.P. School, which is accessed from Westminster Road. Our friendly staff are always happy to greet you and help in what ever capacity you require. We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to all our facilities and groups.
When visiting either Balmoral Children's Centre, or West End Satellite, you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff, who will be happy to discuss the many exciting activities and services we offer.

Balmoral Children's Centre provides a range of services and activities available to parent/carers with children up to 5 years of age, including pre-birth parents-to-be. We give a warm welcome to everyone from first time visitors to regular members at all our groups and activities. Any parent can volunteer to become a Parent Representative for our groups –an ideal opportunity to meet new friends, learn new skills and enjoy yourself.

Parenting Courses
Free creche available for all courses
Speakeasy—Tuesday 9.30—11.30am
8 Week course to help parents deal with difficult & embarrassing questions (Starts 1st May)
Confidence Building– Wednesday 9.30-11.30am
10 week course to help with confidence issues (starts2nd May)
Literacy-Thursday 9.30-11.30am
10 week Accredited Literacy course (starts 19th April)
ESOL– Thursday 12.30—2.30pm
English as a second Language (starts 26th April)
Family Language – Thursday 1—3pm
10 Week Course for parents of school age children, for whom English is a second language, to enable them to feel more
confident when helping their child with school. (start date 3rd May)

Total Tots Day Nursery

Childcare for children from 3 months to 4 years old. We provide a welcoming homely atmosphere to make all children feel safe and secure. Various sessions available. Telephone (01524) 411753 for further information.
Child Health Clinic
Health Visitor led drop-in clinic every Friday morning between 9.30 and 11.30a.m. Check on your child's weight & development and speak to professionals.
Midwives Drop-in
Community midwives are available every Friday morning for either regular visits 9.00am to 11.30am or drop-in11.30am-12.30pm for help and advice. Appointments available, telephone (01524) 413524.
Appointments available with Community Sexual Health Nurse
Confidential and friendly advice on contraception and sexual health, in a comfortable and private environment. Telephone 07970848393 for further information or an appointment.
LDWA (Lancaster District Women's Aid) - Wednesdays
Cost. FREE
Time: 3.00pm – 5.00pm
Drop-in for advice, support and a listening ear, if you are or have been affected by domestic violence. Designed to provide confidential help and assistance to women by women.

Our friendly and approachable team offer help, advice & support for all childcare concerns including child behaviour, speech & language development and special needs.
Various Adult Education Courses
We work with the Adult College, Sure Start & Home Start to provide an assortment of educational courses to help parent/carers.

Dad's Group - Alternate Tuesdays
At Balmoral Children's Centre
5.30pm-7pm. Light supper provided. All male carers welcome. No need to book. Just come along.
Peer Support worker for Breastfeeding available in Centre every Friday during Child Health Clinic.
Smoking Cessation
Drop-in Fridays 1.30pm-3.00pm - please ring for details
Sensory Room

We have a room which is fitted out with sensory equipment, this can be used by professionals or parent/carers. This facility is free of charge, but must be booked in advance (01524) 413524.
Community Allotment
Visit our allotment to grow veg, or just spend some time outdoors with your children,

Grow Your Own Group Starting Tuesday 13th March 12.30 to 2.30 pm. Tutor led course to learn how to grow your own fruit & veg from scratch and have your own little plot. Ring for place (01524) 413524
