Lune Park Children's Centre

Lune Park Children's Centre offers a variety of activities and services for parents-to-be and families/carers of children under 5 years of age. Located in Rylands Park, Lancaster, Lune Park Children's Centre can be accessed by car via Torrisholme Road or on foot within Rylands Park itself. There is a free car park on-site. Upon entering Lune Park Children's Centre you will be greeted by one of our friendly receptionists who will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Groups and activities at Lune Park

Mum2Mum Breastfeeding Support Group

We are local mums who have breastfed our babies. We are also qualified breastfeeding peer supporters and want to use our knowledge to help other mums (and mums-to-be). So if you're breastfeeding now or plan to give it a go once your baby arrives then come along to our friendly relaxed group.

Baby Massage

Baby massage can help with sleep problems, colic, constipation and relaxation and can be a wonderful way for you to bond with your baby. This class is for babies aged from 8 weeks to 9 months. All equipment is provided.

Book Library/Book Swap

 Borrow up to 5 books for 4 weeks via our Book Library. Resource books for adults are also available.

Young Mums Care

If you are a mum or pregnant and under the age of 24 then this group is for you. We are a small friendly group where you can relax, play, do craft activities or just have a chat with other mums. Drinks and snacks are provided for you and your children.

Pregnancy Relaxation classes (term time only)
For mums-to-be from 20 weeks pregnant. A midwife will be present once a month to teach breathing in labour etc. Please bring your hand held notes with you.

Midwife Drop in
Informal drop in sessions for antenatal and postnatal mums.

Child Health Clinic with Health Visitors
Offers health advice for your baby or child. Meet other mums or chat to your local Health Vistor.

Baby Club
Come along for a chat and opportunity for your baby to play.

Inbetweenies
A group aimed at children who are not babies but not yet confident toddlers. Allows them the chance to play and explore in a safe, friendly environment.

Toddler Group
Join us for 2 hours of fun and activities including painting, music and more.

Storytelling session
Join Oscar the puppet and his friends for some storytime fun.

Music & Me (used to be Jiggly Wriggles)
A music/singing/making sounds group for parents/carers and children 18mths-3 yrs (but younger also welcome).

AOK Club
Peer support group for parents/carers of children with additional needs with or without a diagnosis from birth to 8 yrs.

Munchkins Childminders group
For registered childminders. Join is for 2 hours of fun and activities.

Mini Movers (term time only)
Musical movement for parents and toddlers at Ludus Dance in Lancaster.

Dad's Club
Want help, support & a friendly chat with other local dads? Take part in fun activities with your children and access FREE training courses.

TOP CATS (Time out and Play for Carers and Toddlers)
A Parent support group run by parents. Activities and play. Refreshments provided (term time only).

The Sensory Room

We are lucky enough to have a wonderful sensory room which contains a range of lights and textures to keep children entertained. The sensory room can be used by anyone with a child but will really appeal to children with additional needs. Use of the sensory room is FREE but must be booked in advance. Just call 01524 382818

Nippers Day Nursery

Our popular Day Nursery is located in the main Lune Park Children's Centre building. Here you'll find cosy playrooms and friendly staff. We also have a lovely seaside-themed outdoor space. The nursery has a baby room, a 2-3's room and a pre-school room.

Advice and Information
Lune Park Children's Centre in partnership with Lancaster's Citizen's Advice Bureau offers FREE information and advice on subjects from debt, housing and tax credits to domestic violence. All advice given is free, confidential and impartial.  If you live in North Lancaster contact 382818 or call in to Lune Park Children's Centre. If you live in South Lancaster then the CAB holds a number of drop in sessions at 87 King St, Lancaster (see the CAB website for more details)

Stop Smoking Service
Do you want to quit smoking? Need some help? Here at Lune Park Children's Centre we offer a one-to-one advice service which deals with issues such as how to plan your quit attempt, coping with cravings, weight gain and stress. For more information about this service please contact:  01524  382818

Parenting Courses

COPE (8 week course) Aims to help parents cope with the everyday issues of bringing up children.
 
SPEAKEASY (8 week course) A fun and relaxed course that helps parents and carers to gain the knowledge and confidence they need to talk positively with their children about sex and relationships.
 
YMTD (9 week course)  - You Make The Difference. In this course you will learn to understand and use words through play and activities, using books, music & bubbles to connect with your child.
